ISKCON fallen guru list update

Reply To Bhasu Ghosh Prabhu (Iskcon Baroda)& Supporter of Bogus Iskcon Gurus). From Devaki Nandana Das

Dear Basu Ghosh Prabhu

Namonamha, Jaya Srila Prabhupada! NO Jayas to Iskcon Bogus RURUS.

Here is an accurate reply based on history and evidence to your inaccurate "inaccuracies" cited regarding the following bogus Gurus in Iskcon.

2. Bhavananda -  Please visit the website of the GBC Resolutions in 1987 http://www.dandavats.com/wp-content/uploads/GBCresolutions/GBCRES87.htm
where it clearly mentions as follows in Resolution No. 3 "Bhavananda is removed as member of GBC " and further in Resolution No.53 "That Bhavananda Swami's status as an ISKCON guru is suspended".

Whether Bhavananda was physically expelled or not is irrevelant, the main point of the fallen Iskcon Guru list is to show just that - that they were fallen! Such persons who posed as Gurus in Iskcon Post 1978 were never Gurus in the first place and were imitators. It is also a known historical fact that Bhavananda had committed a few falldowns in relation to homosexual activities around 1984-1985 which led to his suspension and removal of GBC/Guru position in the first place. It is also completely unheard of that a Guru in the Parampara of self realized souls can perform such base acts- again reiterating our point that Bhavananda and all others on the list were never Gurus in the first place, but were cheap imposters who tried to defile the real meaning of Guru. Hence he is in the list of fallen Gurus.

4. Hansadutta - was definitely a rtvik reformer a few years after giving up his Guruship. Wrote many letters to this effect. This is a historical fact which you can verify from many of your Godbrothers(non Rtvik and Rtvik).  Jitarati Prabhu personally had contacts with Hansadutta and knows the details. Hansadutta’s position may or may not have changed in the recent years. You mentioned that you met him as recent as 2010 and the fact that you and him didn’t discuss the topic does not mean that he was never a Rtvik reformer.

5. Hrdayananda -  as far as any honest devotee is concerned he  is fallen as a Sannyasi, what to speak of a Guru. Please see the picture attachments and do the simple math which takes the GBC usually around 30 odd years just to try to even figure out the basics. Even you have admitted that he champions Homosexual Monogamy which your beloved spiritual master Srila Prabhupada was completely against as mentioned in the Srimad Bhagavatam 3rd Canto purports. Again our main point is that after seeing the attached pics and Hrdayananda’s promotion of homosexual monogamy, and all the lies he told us together with the other 10 zonal acaryas regarding Srila Prabhupada appointing them as Gurus, how can he be qualified to be a Guru ? They had directly disobeying Srila Prabhupad’s orders, The GBC even accepts that the zonal lie was one of the biggest lies in Iskcon. Therefore Hrdayananda is listed as a fallen Guru

7. Kirtananda - even accepting your point (only for arguments sake) that he was jailed not for pedophilia, but for fraud, we still have never seen in the history of our spiritual Parampara line that Gurus can be jailed for fraud.  In any case history shows us clearly together with the testimonies of many devotees (non rtvik and rtvik) that he was a known homosexual whether with young boys and/or adult men. Please also see the Pic attachments for a better understanding. For more detailed explanation on why Kirtananda is considered a fallen Guru, please vist the webite of the 1987 GBC resolutions which nicely sums up the fact that he definitely should be included in the fallen list of Gurus.

http://www.dandavats.com/wp-content/uploads/GBCresolutions/GBCRES87.htm

Resolution Nos 8. a) Whereas Kirtanananda Swami, by his words and deeds has systematically obscured and minimized His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada's pre-eminent position as the Founder-Acarya of ISKCON;

b) Whereas  Kirtanananda Swami in word and deed rejects the Governing Body Commission as the ultimate managing authority in ISKCON, and by so doing is dismantling Srila Prabhupada's vision of unity;

c) Whereas Kirtanananda Swami is, in defiance of GBC policy and over the GBC's protest, establishing in North America, India, and Malaysia, temples and institutions controlled by himself alone, thus creating a movement separate from ISKCON;

d) Whereas in word and deed, Kirtanananda Swami, while acting independently of ISKCON authority, systematically misrepresents ISKCON to the public, the media, and the government, and thereby brings ISKCON into jeopardy;

e) Whereas, as indicated by GBC investigations, numerous, serious illegal acts have occured within his jurisdiction;

"The ISKCON GBC hereby expels Kirtanananda Swami from ISKCON and thereby removes all his rights and responsibilities related to ISKCON. The ISKCON GBC further issues a notice of non-participation forbidding Kirtanananda Swami to participate in the functions of ISKCON."

10. TKG - my 'exclusive' Guru - again what you have described is completely inaccurate regarding that he was confused about the Rtvik system. TKG knew very well better than you or me what he was doing at the time he admitted Rtvik around Dec 1980. He was the ringleader of the entire bogus zonal acarya system so he was far from confused. Around 1980 he had just been banned from initiations and sent to China for his audacious statements to many of his God brothers in the West and other places that if they were to approach Srila Prabhupada, they would have to go through him only.

He also claimed that he was the exlcusive Guru even above the rest 10 zonal acaryas. Many good Srila Prabhupada disciples left the movement shortly after this announcement particularly in Texas and Chicago where he was in charge of. It was this incident that led him to being banned by the GBC. This is s historical fact which again you can verify from your godbrothers both non rtvik and rtvik. This point has also been admitted by Tamal Krishna himself in one of his famous book where he depicts himself as a university student(I forgot the name, but you can order it anytime from his 'disciples'

I was also personally serving Tamal during those days when he was in my area, and could see his frustration at being chastised by the GBC. Later, to retaliate against the GBC, Tamal Krishna used his last Ace card weapon he had. To get back his initiating Guru status, he blackmailed the GBCs and other Gurus by revealing the truth about Rtvik, mentioning that Srila Prabhupada had never ordered the appointment of Gurus, but had only appointed Rtviks. Jitarati Prabhu was also present during those times with Tamal, and you can also verify from him. The only reason Tamal Krishna later rejected the Rtvik idea is because the GBC and his other 10 ‘Guru’ God brothers seeing that he was spilling the beans and singing like a nightingale, shut him up by reinstating him again as a zonal acarya Guru.

This satisfied Tamal and so to go back to doing his Guru business again, he had to reject the very same Rtvik statements that he had made. This, Prabhu again is a historical fact.

Tamal Krishna is also known by a good number of devotees for physically poisoning Srila Prabhupada. Please hear his statements in instructing Bhavananda on how to put the “poison in different containers”. This is spoken in the background while the Kaviraj is speaking loud Hindi.

Please click here for the highlighted sound background conversations between Tamal Krishna to Bhavananda (If on Windows Media Player, MP3 CD timer is on 34:06 – 34:42)

Please click here for the original normal sound background conversations between Tamal Krishna to Bhavananda (If on Windows Media Player, MP3 CD timer is on 34:06 – 34:42)

Even if we do not take into account this particular point of poisoning, Tamal Krishna is to be listed as one of the fallen Gurus because of his above mentioned constant lies and self contradictions regarding the Guru issue at a speed which even the wind could not compete with.

9.Atreya rsis – besides being a GBC was also a diksa Guru , Please see the GBC resolutions 1986
http://www.dandavats.com/wp-content/uploads/GBCresolutions/GBCRES86.htm---

April 1 1986  Resolution No.3. “Atreya Rsi prabhu is given blessings and authoriisation to take up initiating guru responsibilities”

Now unless Atreya Rsi Prabhu had applied and requested for Guruship, why on earth was he blessed and given permission to do so in the first place? Where is he now why is he not acting as a Guru? Hence he is on the fallen list.

11. Ananda Svarup Swami _ You are again missing our point , ie these persons were posing as imitator gurus initiating and convincing innocent newcomers to worship them to be as good as God. Because the above mentioned personalities, including Ananda Svarup Swami were imitators and have also shown obvious signs of spiritual falldown, that is why he is also listed as a fallen Guru.

You quoted Srila Prabhupada's statement “many stalwarts in the path of devotion have fallen prey to women and wealth in the past." Prabhupada is not referring to bonafide spiritual masters coming down in a disciplic succession of self realised souls.  He is speaking of the rank and file devotees, amongst whom there are also stalwarts . This is confirmed in Srila Prabhuapad's statement in the Bhagavad Gita (Original Macmillan Version) Ch 4 tx 42  purport "A bona fide spiritual master is in the disciplic succession from time ETERNAL, and he does NOT deviate AT ALL from the instructions of the Supreme Lord - - -." And in the Chaitanya Charitamrta Srila Prabhupada mentions "The spiritual master in the disciplic succession is in the category of Narada Muni."

34. Somaka swami- You mentioned him as "deceased," but still this does not negate the fact that he was an imposter imitating the bona Fide Gurus in the actual Parampara of self realized souls, hence he is also listed as a fallen guru.

31. Rohini suta- In our fallen Guru list, we never mentioned him as a sannyasi, so there is no dispute on that, However the fact that he was imitating as a Guru in his bramachari asram staus, and then fell down with one of his women disciple was a bad and harmful joke played not only on this woman but on many of his other discples. Again our point is that because he was an imposter Guru, he is listed in the fallen Guru list.

 37. Vaninath Vasu Das – you mentioned that he never took sannyas, again another irrevelant point.

36. Umapati swami - 1n 1998 he was first exposed by one of Tamal's aspiring disciple. This devotee personally flew from north China to my place,and  informed me in detail about Umapati's homosexual dealings with his disciples. The disciples who were victims had confided in him, and there were 3-4 victims at the time. This devotee had been kicked out of the temple for trying to bring this matter up with the local authorities there. So he decided to come to us. After hearing this, I had iinformed Jitarati Prabhu, but because we had just ourselves been kicked out from the Temple because of our differences with them on the Guru issue, we requested this devotee to go directly and personally to Tamal and Giridhari Swami and inform them of this issue. Unfortunately, both of them hushed up the matter, kept a tight lid on it for nearly 10 years.

Later Umapati's homosexual falldowns re surfaced again around 2007 this time with a new set of victims. In any case Umapati had already made a written signed statement to the GBC and local authorities in the temple admitting his homosexual advances. There is also a detailed explanation of how he had spiritually fallen in a letter written by the local leaders at the time to the general devotees.

Please see the attachments titled Umapati Swami and the GBC Executive Committee Agreement & the title "Statement by Umapati Swami" and the other one written by the local temple authorities at the time. You can verify these documents by writing directly to Umapati's respective temple authorities that he was involved with.

39. Vipramukhya ex-Swami – you mentioned that he has not disappeared. When the term dissapeared is used in the list of fallen Guru list, in this case  it does not mean that he is dead, not does it mean that he has disappeared from the face of the earth (for now). But because he had left Iskcon so abruptly, and has no contact with the general rank and file devotees, in that sense, we consider him disappeared. Again you have made an irrevelant statement. Our point is that he imitated  the Diksa Guru in the pure disciplic succession of actual self realized Gurus, and then had  abruptly left this position after falling down with a woman from his sannyasa and ‘good as God Guru position’ .

Hope this helps, and you get the point regarding the reasons why the above mentioned ‘Gurus’ are in the fallen Guru List.

 Thanking you,

Ys devaki n das

Dear Devakinandan Prabhu,
Namonamaha.  Jaya Srila Prabhupada!
Received your message.  The list of fallen ISKCON Gurus.

While much of it is accurate, there are some inaccuracies there.

Here is what I've noticed:
1. Bhavananda - he's here at Mayapur, by the way - I met him briefly yesterday.  He was not expelled, but "abdicated"/"up and left" ISKCON, "at the peak of his power", back during 1986.

2. Hansadutta - was expelled during 1982 Mayapur GBC meeting.  He is not a "ritvik reformist", as I understand things.  I had lunch with him at ISKCON Berkeley back during October 2010.  However, I understand he's not happy with the ISKCON leadership - but we didn't discuss either topic, as I recall.

 3. Hridayananda has not retired.  He's still very much active.  He resigned from the GBC - that's all.  He's not incognito - he's still in touch.  But he's not a "mainstream" ISKCON leader or preacher.  He's somewhat reclusive at times, has his own "liberal ideology" and has "his own circle".  He sometimes seems to be a "normal, ISKCON preacher".  Sometimes.  Sometimes he champions "Western dress" and "homosexual monogamy".

4. The late Kirtanananda.  He was not jailed for pedophilia.  He was jailed for fraud.  Like Jayatirtha - who was expelled at the same 1982 Mayapur GBC meeting as Hansadutta was expelled, was expelled for his "hippie type lifestyle, etc.", he has passed away.

 5. Late TKG - it was 1995, not 1996, when the GBC "took him - and others - to task" for promoting/closely associating with the late NM.  Later on he understood that NM was "poaching devotees" from ISKCON by claiming to be the "real acharya".  While at one time during 1980 he might have been confused on the question of "ritvik representatives of the acharyas", aka the "ritvik system of initiation", later on he rejected that idea. Yes, he did write in favor of a liberal interpretation of ISKCON/Prabhupada's ideology, something somewhat akin to what Hridayananda Maharaj promotes today.

 6. Atreya Rishi das left ISKCON and gave up "saadhana".  Like him, so many others amongst the "rank and file" - who had no post such as GBC as he had, did likewise.  It's not an uncommon phenomenon in the history of ISKCON.  He also divorced his wife, etc.  That is also common in the USA, Europe and it's come to India as well - although not nearly as common, since some sense of vedic/Hindu morality still prevails here in India.

 7. Ananda Swarup Das fell down from sannyas.  I don't think that is also uncommon, if abhorrent.  Prabhupada wrote that "many stalwarts in the path of devotion have fallen prey to women and wealth in the past" (paraphrase).

 Arjuna asked Lord Krishna in the 5,000 year old Bhagavad-gita "what happens to the fallen yogi".  So this is neither new or surprising.  This comment applies to many others on your/this list.  Therefore 99.9% of human society is "grihasta" - because: a. renunciation of sex life is very difficult, and b. that renunciation usually comes "at the end of life", after 75 years of age.

 34. Somaka Swami - is also deceased.  Had left ISKCON and bhakti prior to passing away in South America .

 31. Rohini Suta Das.  Was never a sannyasi.  Married a disciple, which seems inappropriate, but then, she isn't a blood relative (as I understand things).  He's still around, but is certainly low key (but then, I don't know the whole story).

 37. Vaninath Vasu Das - he never took sannyas, as I recall.

 38. Umapati Swami was expelled for "non-cooperation" with the GBC who ordered him to give up "sannyas dress" for homosexual behavior.

 39. Vipramukhya ex-Swami - has not disappeared.  He's now known as Wayne E.

Boyd as has a website.  He's a Government employee - with the Department ofin corrections - and maintains a website.  He married a woman with grown up children and lives in Texas .

 http://www.wayneboyd.com/

 He's a computer & internet addict who met his wife "on the net".

 He's no longer a practicing devotee - there are so many others who took initiation from Prabhupad directly in this same category.  It's a fact he was an ISKCON leader - but wasn't a GBC.

 40. Jagat Guru Swami did take a new sannyas name from the late BR Sridhar Maharaj - BG Narasinga.  He's independent of BR Sridhar's "Chaitanya Saraswat Math" and has his own "Narasingha Gaudiya Math" and has a website www.gosai.com

 You forgot to mention Akshayananda Swami, who left ISKCON during 1981 for the BR Sridhar group, got a new name "Sagar Maharaj" and has subsequently married.

 24. Panchadravida Swami left ISKCON with Akshayananda, for the SCSM, but is still a sannyasi there, as I understand things.

 16. Ganapati Swami is still very much a sannyasi in ISKCON, but is unhappy with the ISKCON leadership.  He's very low key, and preaches in cities in the USA where ISKCON is not established.  He's not interested in being an institutional manager, as I understand things, just an independent preacher.

 Hope this meets you well.

 das,

 Basu Ghosh Das

  1. was to be expected, Ritviks remain in excommunicated status, life-long ban from ISKCON. Whereas all these fallen gurus are arranged with posts in the upper management.
    Ugly pile of cheated ex-disciples swept under the rug.
