Virat Mandir in Bihar to overtake Angkor Wat as world's largest Hindu temple
The proposed Virat Ramayan Mandir, at Janki Nagar near Kesaria in West Champaran district, about 125 km from here, will stand almost double the height of world-famous 12th century Angkor Wat temple complex in Cambodia, which is 215 feet high.The compelx will comprise of 18 temples with high spires, and its Shiv temple would have the largest Shivling in the world, another distinction.

Devotees who walk to Tirumala to get one laddu free
Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, which manages the famous hill shrine at Tirumala near here, will offer one laddu prasadam free to devotees who prefer to trek on foot the 11-km long stairway leading to the temple from the foot of the hills from October five.

Taraka Nath Das, born Alexei Mikhailov in the Leningrad Region in 1970, is married to an Indian ISKCON devotee and is happy to live in a country, where a large number of people are vegetarians. “Krishna changed my life,” says the devotee who faced the worst kinds of financial hardships and had several run-ins with the law after the collapse of the Soviet Union. “There wasn’t a banned narcotic substance that I didn’t try and I can’t remember how often I was drunk, although I was not an alcoholic,” he says. 

Kudroli Temple to Get Women Priests
Former union minister B Janardhana Poojari has said that two women, who have lost their husbands, will be given an opportunity to worship the deities in Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatheswara temple on the eve of Navaratri, by appointing them as priests of the temple.Addressing presspersons here on Thursday, Poojary said that the ‘revolutionary’ step is being taken to eliminate myths related to women who have lost their husbands, which prevents them from performing rituals in temples.
