[PADA: Srila Prabhupada's letters were being suppressed by the GBC starting in 1977. No one was allowed to even read them in the archives, and Satsvarupa said that these letters "are not relevant." In 1985 Sulochana das went to Los Angeles to bribe an archives devotee to get these letters on a mirofiche. Then Sulochana came immediately to Berkeley where me and him began to read these letters, we went out and purchased two microfiche readers.
While there in Berkeley, a GBC guru called us to say if we distribute these letters or else we will be "dead meat on a hook." Me and Sulochana then realized, wow, we are on to something! We needed to publish these letters! And we started to do that. Of course he was assassinated shortly after in May of 1986, and I would have been assassinated too, at least the FBI told me I was next on the hit list. The police and FBI came to my rescue in Berkeley and they started doing surveillance on me etc. Anyway, its so ecstatic to see these letters have been fully liberated.
