Water Mafia Madness In India

PADA: Srila Prabhupada says India will suffer severe shortages and lack of resources, all because -- despite they know something about Krishna -- they are turning away from Him to become impersonalists, followers of bogus gurus and avatars, if not Westernized and materialistic. Thus, they are being punished for turning their backs on Krishna despite having some theoretical idea who He is. Srila Prabhupada said -- India is "an abundance of nothing."

This type of pattern seems to happen to some Western devotees who also give up on Krishna despite knowing who He is. They seem to suffer and have sometimes very tragic lives. One such devotee was recently arrested again for a felony crime, violating his parole. And he may have to spend some considerable time in jail now, all because he gave up on his devotional life and surrendered back to maya's realm.

Srila Prabhupada says that when a person knows about Krishna -- and he rejects Krishna, or turns back to maya, he has to suffer for that. Its like Krishna is extending His hand -- and someone slaps His hand away. Krishna also has feelings, and He does not appreciate being rejected.

Srila Prabhupada says -- because of this rejection of Krishna, more and more of the people of India will be so much engaged in their day to day struggle for existence, they will find it hard to even have the time to practice yoga and think of Krishna. There is not such good karma for knowing about Krishna, and then ignoring or rejecting Him, or turning towards the Westernized / Bollywood life. This is very sad, but we either surrender to Krishna, or we have to suffer, that is the way His energies work.

No one can change this, its an eternal and always existing fact in all of Krishna's Kingdom. Of course, surrendering to Krishna is such bliss and nectar, we can see why Krishna wants to try to encourage that. He feels better when we surrender, and we feel better too. ys pd
